OPPORTUNITIES

Vanhulle Dance Theatre is looking for new Board members to join the team.

We are looking for people who can bring their experience, passion for the arts and point of view to join and guide our company.

Vanhulle Dance Theatre is internationally recognised for its high‑quality performances and its distinctive fusion of contemporary dance with authentic martial arts, creating a dynamic and disciplined physical language that attracts audiences beyond traditional dance circles. Known for its research‑driven, socially engaged approach to dance‑making, the company focuses not only on choreography, but on how the work is created and shared. Guided by a vision of using dance as a tool for dialogue, Laura and Oliver collaboratively work across disciplines to produce socially conscious and emotionally aware performances. By performing in non‑traditional spaces, they break down barriers and foster meaningful connections between performers and their audiences.

As an international touring company, settled in Cambridgeshire, Vanhulle Dance Theatre is now looking to the future with a revised strategy to face new challenges ahead. We are looking for new board members to help steer the company through the next phase of its development. We are interested in people with a background in:

● Accounts/Finance

● Outdoor Arts

● Indoor programming

● Marketing

● Arts administration

● Funding/Charitable Trusts

Time commitments: We ask our members to attend four meetings a year, plus working group

meetings as required. We welcome and encourage members to attend key events in our

calendar such as performances and sharings.

Out Of The Ordinary Festival Youth Dance Project with Vanhulle Dance Theatre

Back by popular demand, we’re looking for young people with an interest in dance for an exciting dance performance opportunity!

Cambridge City Council’s Cultural Services team are partnering with internationally renowned contemporary dance company, Vanhulle Dance Theatre, to bring a dance performance opportunity to young people ages 11-18 from Cambridge. No previous dance experience is necessary, and all levels are welcome to apply.

This curtain raiser performance will be performed at Out Of The Ordinary Festival this summer. This will be an outdoor performance created with Laura Vanhulle and Oliver Robert Russell to open for Vanhulle Dance Theatre’s performances of ORB.

This is a free opportunity, and young people will be provided with performance t-shirts. Travel from Trumpington Park and Ride will also be provided on the performance day if required.

Monday 18 August - Friday 22 August: Rehearsals at Clay Farm Centre, CB2 9FN

Saturday 23 August: Performances at Out Of The Ordinary Festival, Cambridge

We will either run full day rehearsals with one large group, or half day rehearsals with two separate groups depending on number of applications. This will be communicated after the closing date but please keep full days free in the interim.

To participate, you must be able to commit to the performance day and at least four of the five rehearsal days.
