¨The Expressive Body”
Laura’s contemporary class is inspired by the body’s Chakra points, using them to initiate acrobatic and emotive movement. The class focuses on the connection between the head, spine, and tailbone, creating a serpentine flow that enhances movement fluidity. Her approach explores the contrast between gathering and sending, high and low, as well as emotionally driven movement and functional movement patterns. Drawing from 30 years of experience in dance and a growing curiosity in martial arts, Laura integrates a highly physical and expressive movement language into her teaching. Her practice challenges dancers to embrace both technical precision and emotional depth, fostering a dynamic and immersive experience.
Belgian-born Laura Vanhulle is the Co-Artistic Director of Vanhulle Dance Theatre. She moved to the UK in 2006 to complete her BA (Hons) degree at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and was selected for an apprenticeship with ACE Dance and Music, Shobana Jeyasingh (Counterpoint), and Motionhouse (The Voyage). Since then, she has built a successful career performing for a diverse range of companies and choreographers, including Mickael Marso Riviere, Oliver Robert Russell, Coda Dance Theatre, Keneish Dance Theatre, Sonia Sabri Company, Room2Manoeuvre, Autin Dance Theatre, ACE Dance and Music, Gary Clarke, Gustavo Oliveira, Rogue Play, Southpaw Dance Company, and James Wilton. Her teaching has also taken her internationally to Portugal, Greece, and Belgium, where she has contributed to dance intensives and training programs.

Touching Base
Play - Move - Connect - Share
An organic four step system equipping dancers to connect and create.
Led by Judith Clijsters and Laura Vanhulle this workshop uses contemporary dance, yoga, choreography and body-conditioning as anchor points.
Play - “Welcome to the game of creativity.”
New ways to express through play - experiment and improvise - where mistakes don’t exist.
Move - “Movement is dance and dance is movement. Simple. Just like our constant moving breath.”
Through somatic body work, tasks and composition, participants zoom into the functioning of the body.
By receiving, giving and supporting we discover our strengths, weaknesses and new possibilities.
Connect - “Wired through touch”
Moving together we connect differently, energy and body language converse and other patterns emerge.
New relationships become visible, communication is important, we pronounce, invite, say no, care
Share - “Leaving a trace”
We are all connected in a new zone, everyone has a voice, the space to express themselves in this new universal language.
We share our experiences and what we’ve learned.
